Floral and sweet, my art comes from the moments I’ve spent tending plants in my garden.
Oregon has deeply inspired my love for botany and ecology. 2016 I released an adult coloring book Naturally Oregon, made up of illustrations of native and iconic botany in my state. I started gardening in 2017 which has fed my need for design and natural science. I’ve recently been interested in fabric and paper dyeing and the qualities that can be produced by kitchen scraps. Most of the mediums I use work well with each other, mixed media is all about interaction and collaboration. Summer 2019 I spent in Guanajuato city in Mexico, where I was able to expand my knowledge of monotype printing. I believe that my practice is the marriage of science and art, with the perspective of cherishing the natural world.
