Mono typing

Monotyping is a technique in printmaking that results in one unique print being made.

The process I use is painting on a reusable plastic plate with Akua Inks or watercolors and then transferring that image using a pin press. The image is the reverse of the original plate image, which leaves it wonderfully open to being something different after being pressed.

I think there’s a beauty in something that can’t be copied.
